In parallel to the exhibition “Slow Drift(s) Chapter 1. Peggy Ahwesh”

Talk with Erika Balsom

Saturday March 9th 2024

As part of the public program accompanying Slow Drift(s): Peggy Ahwesh, The Balcony hosts a talk by scholar, critic and curator Dr Erika Balsom, who discusses the works on show.

Erika Balsom’s research deals with cinema, art, and their intersection. She is a Reader in Film Studies at King’s College London and holds a PhD in Modern Culture and Media from Brown University. She has published extensively on Ahwesh’s work and more expansively on questions of technological change and feminist worldmaking. In 2021, she co-curated Peggy Ahwesh: Vision Machines (2021) at Spike Island, UK.

The Balcony sincerely thanks Erika Balsom, EYE Film Museum, and Julian Ross for making this event possible.
